Biography:
Alfredo Nicola Calvi, a longtime resident of Yonkers, passed away on June 18, 2019. He was 86 years old and a 5.0’ giant of a man. Born in Martone, Calabria Italy to the late Giorgio and Giuseppa Piscionere Calvi. Beloved husband of Esterina Fausto Calvi, to whom he was married 62 blissful years. Loving and compassionate father and mentor of Fulvio, Romolo, Alfredo Jr, and Giuseppina Calvi. Dear brother (and brother-in-law) of Antonio (Giuseppina), Rocco (Pasqualina), the late Giuseppe (Rosa) Calvi and (Giuseppe and Alfredo Fausto). Loving grandfather of Alexis, Andre, Angela, Gina, Jayson and Evana Calvi. Loving father-in-law of Rosanne, Nancy and Lillina Calvi and fiancé Ray Bissonnette. Loving uncle and cousin to a large extended family around the world. Alfredo settled in Yonkers with his young bride in 1962 and soon founded a company with his brothers Calvi Brothers Co., Inc, and in 1985 also formed Alfredo Calvi & Son Co., Inc. He was a very hard working loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, nephew, cousin, friend and hunting partner who will be dearly missed by all. Arrangements entrusted to Flower Funeral Home Inc., 714 Yonkers Ave, with visitation Friday 2-4 & 7-9 pm.
