Biography:
Marilyn Margolin, age 84, passed away on Tuesday, June 25th, 2019. Following her birth on February 16th, 1935, Marilyn grew up with her parents, Louis and Pauline Solomon, in Bronx, NY. After Marilyn’s mother passed away at a young age, her father raised her independently while also running the shoe shop in Harlem that he owned. Marilyn cherished family values, working at Showtime for over 20 years while helping to raise her grandchildren. Along the way, she cultivated many friendships, traveling to and from Manhattan with her friends, colleagues, and grandchildren too who were well-known at the company. Since 1968, Marilyn enjoyed spending time in her co-op baking, gardening, and bonding with her grandchildren on weekends through arts and crafts. In 2015, Marilyn moved in with the family to enjoy her later years in Yonkers, NY. There, she spent much of her time with her favorite furry pets – Lola and KK. Her legacy lives on in her two surviving daughters, Helene and Robin, in the loving memory of her deceased daughter, Paula, her son-in-law, Jack, her six grandchildren, Dominick, Laurie, Anthony, Stephanie (Andrew), Danny (Diana), and Chrissy, and her two great grandchildren, Dominick Jr. and Juliano. To family and friends, Marilyn was affectionately known as “Nana,” and will be missed dearly. Arrangements entrusted to FLOWER FUNERAL HOME INC., 714 Yonkers Ave, with visitation Friday 5-9 pm.
